Abstract

This chapter outlines regulatory issues related to off-grid electrification. It first asks whether the sector has to be regulated or not. It then tries to find out where regulation can be used and what type of regulation is appropriate. The chapter considers different types of delivery options and tries to map service functions and regulatory options. It also discusses some regulatory challenges and issues.
