Abstract
Data analysis, clustering and visualization with SOM is commonly done with (a) public domain software, (b) self-coded software or (c) commercial software packages. In particular, there is an increasing number of commercial, off-the-shelf, user-friendly software tools that are becoming more and more sophisticated. This chapter contains a brief overview of several public domain software tools as well as a list of commercially available neural network tools that contain a self-organizing map capability.
This overview of software tools has been assembled from material produced by Teuvo Kohonen and the staff of the Neural Network Research Center and the Laboratory of Computer and Information Sciences at HUT. It has also greatly benefited from the inputs of Dr Samuel Kaski and Dr Gerhard Kranner.
