Abstract

The emphasis of FM89 was an assessment of the state of the practice in formal methods and their possible roles in the development of critical systems. The workshop participants were drawn from Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Their backgrounds included safety, hardware, software and system engineering, various government agencies, and theoretical and applied computing science.
