Abstract

In order to analyze the Split&Merge efficiency and flexibility, two prototypes were implemented using the architecture deployed in the Amazon Web Services platform. The first one was a video transcoding application used by Globo.com to generate different video formats, for Internet distribution, from a high definition input. The second one was an OCR application for automatic sports video annotation, which detects available information inside video frames and use it to automatically describe the content.
