Abstract
Wound healing impairment in the elderly has been accepted as a medical reality for many years now. The most devastating wounds in the elderly include pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, and poorly healing surgical wounds. Recently, improved wound care products (see Table 8.1) and best practice guidelines (see Table 8.2) have helped to improve care of elderly patients with these types of wounds.
