Abstract
Programs with graphical interfaces provide a more convenient and effective manner for a user to interact with the application. Using graphical user interfaces (GUIs), users can interact with graphical elements, such as buttons, menus, dialog boxes, and other graphical components. This chapter discusses the design and construction of simple GUIs using the two graphical libraries. OOSimL depends on the underlying language Java that provides two graphical libraries (or packages) of classes. The first library of classes is called the abstract windows toolkit (AWT). The second library is called Swing. Programs that include GUIs, will access these two library packages using the following lines of code.
