Abstract
In this graphics-oriented chapter, I’m going to guide you around some of the new facets of designing for the web and cross-platform media. If you’re coming to this book from a print background, then some of this information will be invaluable. If you’re a programmer, you probably want to skip it and get down with the Terminal, but I urge you to have a quick read anyway, because you never know when you may need something from this chapter in the future. We’ll be looking at
-
Some background history of the primary design applications
-
Basic web design knowledge, such as fonts, color, and layout
-
Working with your PC teammates on a project
-
The main “gotchas” when designing on a Mac for a primarily PC-based audience
