Abstract

Now that you have finished the process of designing, developing, and debugging your RFID application, it is time to deploy it to production. In this chapter, we cover the crucial task of moving an RFID business process from a development environment to a staging server or a production machine. The chapter will focus on enterprise deployment scenarios, including centralized provisioning, monitoring, and high availability. Many of the topics listed here are relevant only after you have reached a certain critical mass in terms of the number of instances installed in your enterprise, but it is good to know the enterprise scalability features that exist in the base product, if and when you have to deploy large numbers of servers.
