Abstract
If you look at any application on the Pocket PC, you’ll notice right away that the developers weren’t using your standard set of controls. There are three basic areas where you’ll find yourself using the graphics provided by the .NET Compact Framework. You can write your own custom controls and change their look at the same time. A second opportunity is when you want to show some data to the user in a report form. Perhaps you want to generate a pie chart, or bar graph, or line graph. You have almost as much power drawing on a Pocket PC as you do on the desktop. The third area has to do with displaying graphic images. You can load and display bitmaps, icons, and more onto just about any surface.
