Abstract

To program truly powerful AutoCAD applications and macros, you need to be able to interact with the user. The AutoCAD automation model provides the Utility and SelectionSet objects to do just that. Chapter 12 discusses the SelectionSet object. This chapter discusses the Utility object, which contains a number of methods for obtaining user input via the AutoCAD command line and graphic screen, such as picking points, entering distances and angles, and picking a single entity.
