Abstract

We’re going to pick the pace up now, bringing together things you’ve learned from the last three chapters and showing you how to make your first DirectXbased game. In the space of a 1000-line program, we’re going to cover a lot of concepts: Animating sprites, rendering sprites in DirectX, managing sprites, handling simple input using DirectInput, creating sound effects using DirectSound, and a variety of other gaming goodies.
