Abstract

In Chapter 4, we looked at socket programming in.NET, and you learned how to use the Socket class to connect to remote hosts using different protocols. In Chapter 7, we looked at the TcpClient and TcpListener classes, which provide a higher-level implementation for connecting over TCP. The Microsoft.NET Framework also provides a special class called UdpClient specifically for implementing the User Datagram Protocol (UDP). In this chapter, we’ll look at the basics of UDP, and then see how to use the UdpClient class.
