Abstract
Flex allows developers and designers to create attractive and rich user interfaces and layouts for their Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). As noted in preceding chapters, defining the structure of the layout of an application in Flex is a very simple task. Unlike traditional web applications that use HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), with Flex you do not have to worry about writing lines of code exclusively for defining and formatting the elements of a page (or 100 lines of CSS code for positioning the elements).
