Abstract

The data modeling method used by Flex is based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern. In software development, a design pattern is a general repeatable solution to a commonly occurring problem. The MVC design pattern enables you to separate the user interface from the data handling so that you have total independence between the two layers. MVC decouples data access and business logic from data presentation and user interaction by introducing an intermediate component: the controller.
