Abstract

For an application to recognize speech, it needs to know which words and phrases to expect. Building grammar involves compiling lists of predicted user responses to specific prompts. Creating grammar doesn’t necessarily have to be the very first step in creating an IVR application, but it certainly should be done early in the development process.
