Abstract
I began the research described in this book with three basic questions: what are the organizational mechanisms that generate commitment and enthusiasm on the part of movement supporters and that help explain why the Gülen movement is spreading as a transnational movement? How does member commitment relate to the financial mechanisms that support service projects in ways that promote the involvement, enthusiasm and commitment of movement supporters? What are the financial arrangements related to the institutions associated with the movement and in what ways are supporters related financially to Gülen-inspired projects? In this final chapter I summarize responses to these three issues based on the interviews that I conducted with a wide array of supporters of the Gülen movement, both in Turkey and in Houston, Texas.
