In this paper a framework for the description of the incumbent collapse of the energivorous way of existing is presented, using the knowledge of science: physics, chemistry, biology. The author criticizes the common loquacious debates based on the dualism Energy – GNP, arguing that such language can only bring to a vicious cycle. A program of research on “virtuous complexity” is indicated.
