Identification of Pollutants in Soils around the Obsolete Pesticides Stocks in Ukraine

  • Conference paper
Soil Chemical Pollution, Risk Assessment, Remediation and Security

One of the problems, connected with obsolete pesticides stocks, is the pollution of adjacent soils. The contamination of soil and groundwater with different pesticides, mainly forbidden nowadays, has caused serious environmental problems. Since 2004, the Ukrainian Laboratory of Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products has carried out a series of studies of pesticide residues in soils, adjacent to obsolete pesticides stocks, in the frames of a joint project with EPA USA. The methods used were GLC/FID, GLC/ECD, GLC/MS.
