Up until this point, there has been an implicit assumption that affixal predicates takean argument as their derivational sister. The following chapters will provide evidence for such a conclusion. In this chapter, I take a first step towards this analysis byarguing that nominal arguments of Nuu-chah-nulth predicates are introduced within verbal projections of the affixal predicate.
