Abstract
This chapter describes the structural facet of the analog reusable block. Whereas its behavioral facet is used to map the performance specifications of the circuit immediately above in the hierarchy into performance specifications for the reusable block itself, the structural facet facilitates the mapping of these performance specifications into an appropriate sizing of all the reusable block’s components (in terms of specifications, or device characteristics, sizes and values). In this latter sizing process, in turn, the behavioral facet of each component of the reusable block (obviously except for any device-level component, for which there is no behavioral facet) helps expediting the translation of specifications down the hierarchy. Besides, the structural facet is also used, as explained in Chapter 2, to assess the performance of the reusable block during the bottom-up flow.
