Abstract

This volume has looked at many aspects of empowerment in different contexts of the globe. We now focus on some groups actively involved in bringing about empowerment, and in trying to measure their achievements. The chapter is based on work being carried out by Oxfam UK and Ireland and its Dutch sister agency, Novib.
