Abstract
This volume aims to provide you, an occupational therapist, with psychological knowledge which will increase understanding of yourself and of others and thus enhance your professional skills. The chapters are divided up in terms of some of the important roles you play, or will play, in the full knowledge that there are others some may think of equal or greater importance. The number of very diverse roles you are called upon to play necessitates a relatively large number of chapters. Even so, these cover only a small portion of the whole discipline of psychology. Because the nature of your work involves your being in close contact with individuals over a prolonged period of time, the topics chosen are mainly from the personal and interpersonal areas in psychology.
