Abstract
Domain/IX is the name given to the UNIX operating environment currently available on Apollo workstations. Apollo have ported both the Berkeley bsd4.2 and the AT&T System5 versions of UNIX. Two other versions (which will not be discussed in this book) are also available for backward compatability, these being bsd4.1 and AT&T System 3. Bsd 4.2 and system V may be run separately or simultaneously within different windows — both take full advantage of the Apollo Display Manager.
