Abstract

For Breivik the trial was just another phase of the struggle. He prepared for it thoroughly and planned to exploit it to propagate the cause. However, his pre-trial theoretical assumptions did not foresee that court proceedings might be just as dynamic as terrorist operations. Breivik’s original trial strategy was at large demolished by factors outside his control, and especially by the first psychiatric evaluation.
