Abstract
This is Schiffer’s first paper (and the only one he published under the name “Max Schiffer”), written while he was still a student at Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität (now Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) and submitted shortly before he left Germany for Palestine. The story of how it came to be written is related in [138].
