When long-term enterai access is required in a mentally compromised adult, there are several options to consider. One of the most fundamental considerations is whether to place a gastrostomy or a jejunostomy. This chapter explores those issues. Chapter 20 explores the related issues of percutaneous endoscopic feeding tube access versus laparoscopic placement of a feeding tube.
