Abstract

These results on the measurement of the vibrational spectrum of free cluster by He atom look very promising and open a range of new experimental possibilities. The great advantage of this technique is the general applicability to any kind of vibrational spectrum. The disadvantage is, of course, the low intensity of the scattered signal and the preparation of the cluster target which has to be prepared as monosized as possible.
