Abstract
When Roger Green edited the two volumes of The Diaries of Lewis Carroll for Oxford University Press (1954), he left out many entries devoted to logic and mathematics, assuming they would hold little interest for readers. Happily, we will see the omitted entries when a new and complete edition of the Diaries is published under the editorship of Edward Wakeling. (Three volumes, covering the years 1855–1857, have come out as of this writing.) Meanwhile, we shall consider some of the paragraphs in the Green edition that are of special interest to recreational mathematicians and word play enthusiasts.
