Summary
In this chapter, we demonstrated with the help of an illustrative example, various techniques for information brokering discussed in this book. We demonstrated how pre-existing, independently defined ontologies can be used to specify information requests independent of representation and media of the underlying data. We demonstrated how our techniques enabled interoperation across different ontologies. The use of metadata to gather and correlate pieces of information stored in multiple data sources, and represented in different ontologies was also demonstrated.
