Abstract
A review of local calibrators and data for the Magellanic Clouds, M31 and M33 suggests an increase in the local distance scale of ~10% over that recently adopted by several workers. The uncertainty in this local scale is also ~10% and this sets a lower limit to the uncertainty in the Hubble constant.
