Abstract

Flow calculation commercial software FLUENT6.2 was used for the basic research of liquid-solid two phase flow in chemical pump, distributions of velocity, pressure and concentration of solid were obtained. At the same time, advanced flow measurement equipment PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) combined with image processing was adopted to obtain the inner flow field of a innovated chemical pump. These studies suggest that solid particles change the relative velocity of liquid and the outlet liquid velocity decreases compared with that under clear water condition. However, average relative velocity of mixture the outlet at was larger than that of clear water condition. It is also concluded that more solid particles would accumulate near the pressure side because of solid particles tend to move towards the pressure side, which would helpful to the research of salt-out flow.
