Abstract

Changes in the reactivity of mechanically activated brown coal in the course of thermooxidative degradation were studied using thermal analysis. The thermogravimetric curves obtained at various heating rates were processed using the Model free software. It was found that the intense mechanical treatment of brown coal during crushing resulted in a decrease in the activation energy over the entire temperature range of thermooxidative degradation. A considerable decrease in this parameter for coal fractions enriched in coal matter was detected.
