Abstract

The results of development of Siberia and the influence of severity of its climate on contemporary economic efficiency are examined. A critical analysis is made of the relevan t conclusions and recommendations of American politilogists which have hazardous consequences for Russia. The invalidity of these conclusions and recommendations was ascertained through quantitative assessments to show the real state of affairs as regards industrialization of Siberia, its economic efficiency and profitableness, and resettlement processes in the post-Soviet era.
