Abstract
In the last decades, our knowledge of Late Cretaceous radiolarians has considerably improved. Nevertheless, there are still significant problems concerning correlation between radiolarian communities of low, temperate, and high latitudes. This work shows the possibility of using species that belong to the phylogenetic lineages of the genera Afens Riedel et Sanfilippo, 1974, and Multastrum Vishnevskaya, 1991, for biostratigraphic subdivision of the Upper Cretaceous at low and high latitudes.
