Abstract

The fluid flow in a two-dimensional channel with the wall oscillation law unknown in advance but for the given wall pressure change law is investigated. The law for the channel wall coordinates is determined during solving the problem. If on the wall the pressure oscillation amplitudes a are small, traveling waves propagate over it and give rise to peristaltic fluid transport in the channel. For large a the channel is divided up into two parts: a relatively small pulsing end part creates the flow, while the rest greater part loses this function.
