Notes

  1. A Foundation Degree is a part time vocational degree with a significant work-based element, equivalent to the first two years of a UK undergraduate degree, introduced by the UK government to meet the requirements of employers.

  2. ‘Widening Participation’ refers to the UK government's policy of attempting to get more students from working class and other non-traditional backgrounds into HE. The stated aim was that 50% of the relevant age cohort should have some experience of HE by 2010.
