Cardiovascular risk factors for epilepsy and dementia

Risk factors for dementia accumulate during life, but the effect of concomitant diseases on cognitive decline across the lifespan is still undefined. A new study has shown that focal epilepsy is associated with a considerable risk of developing dementia, but that this effect is magnified by modifiable cardiovascular risk factors.
