Abstract

A number of exciting new experimental and theoretical developments have recently made a dramatic impact on the interdisciplinary study of cosmology and elementary particle physics. The Nuffield Foundation recently sponsored a 3-week workshop in Cambridge where theoreticians worked intensively on some of these problems. A brief review is given of the progress that was made as a result of the workshop, something of the background to the problems tackled, and the likely course of future developments.
