Abstract
SUB-BOTTOM profiling with a 3.5 kHz hull-mounted sounding system was conducted along 49 closely spaced north-east–south-west orientated lines over the southern two-thirds of Saglek Bank (Fig. 1) and on the adjacent slope. The echo sounding profiles reported here reveal a striking series of terraces superimposed on what is otherwise a relatively smooth, acoustically reflective surface in water depths ranging from 130 to 400 m (Fig. 2).
