Temperature-sensitive Mammalian Cell Line Blocked in Mitosis

Abstract

SEVERAL temperature-sensitive mammalian cell mutants in culture have been isolated1–10, including three defective in protein syntheses6, cytokinesis5 and the processing of ribosomal RNA10, respectively. I have now isolated a hamster cell mutant in which mitosis is blocked in metaphase.
