X-ray Diffraction Study of Binding of 2,3-Diphosphoglycerate to Human Deoxyhaemoglobin

Abstract

DPG has a two-fold effect on human deoxyhaemoglobin. It both stabilizes and slightly distorts the S form, and may therefore affect the solubility.
