Abstract
The most serious demographic problem at present is in the developing nations, where populations are growing at a rate of between twenty and forty per thousand per year. Many programmes of birth control are hampered by factors such as child mortality and cultural traditions, but this survey of the world situation shows that these problems are not insuperable if tackled realistically.
