Effects of Aminooxyacetic Acid on Cochlear Potentials and the Preyer Reflex

Abstract

AMINOOXYACETIC acid (AOAA) protects against convulsions induced by chemical agents1–3, electroshock1 and sound4. This activity has been associated with a substantial increase in brain γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) through an inhibition of GABA aminotransferase2.
