Compensation in Haemolytic Anaemias caused by Abnormal Haemoglobins

Abstract

Studies of haemolytic anaemias show that one compensating factor is the ability of red cells to give up oxygen to the tissues. It is suggested that small amounts of abnormal haemoglobin may cause this effect by interacting with the normal haemoglobin present in the cell.
