Choline and Phospholipid-choline in a Sympathetic Ganglion and their Relationship to Acetylcholine Synthesis

Abstract

INDIRECT evidence suggests that the preganglionic nerve terminals of the superior cervical ganglion of the cat can store appreciable quantities of choline for the synthesis of acetylcholine. Choline could be stored either as choline and/or as choline esterified to phospholipids (PL-choline).
