Abstract
As part of a larger programme of study of anisotropy and the Bauschinger effect in cold-worked metals, I conducted a series of tests on deformed and age-hardened mild steel. Only a limited series of tests were carried out and so the generality of the results has not been confirmed. However, it was considered worthwhile to report on these with the view of establishing whether such a phenomenon had been observed previously.
