A Haemoprotein from the Lipid of Peanuts

Abstract

MUCH literature exists on the effects of haematin compounds on the oxidation of unsaturated fats and fatty acids in emulsions and colloidal suspensions1–3. We wish to report a naturally occurring haematin protein found in the lipid fraction of peanuts and other seeds.
