Abstract
Wada and Gibson1 have recently reported that aromatic material extracted from the urine of schizophrenic patients induces behavioural and electroencephalographic abnormalities when injected intracisternally and intraventricularly in cats and monkeys. They used the fraction extracted by eluting with phenol-saturated water the material adsorbed on activated charcoal, according to the method of McGeer et al. 2.
