Growth Spirals on Hæmatite (Fe2O3) Crystals

Abstract

THE observation of ‘growth spirals’ on silicon carbide (Si—C) crystals was reported by me recently1. It was shown that the observations are in accordance with the theory of crystal growth put forward by Burton, Cabrera and Frank2.
