Abstract
THE publication of H. E. Buckley's “Crystal Growth”1, with its chapters on modified crystals, is likely to stimulate interest in this field of research; the time is therefore opportune for this indication to be given of a conception of modification of crystal habit with dyes which, so far as it is at present capable of being tested, appears to explain many of the contradictions and inconsistencies previously confronting workers in this field.
